Vince Soun, M.D.
Dr. Soun was born in Battambang, Cambodia, the fourth child of eight children and came to Utah at the age of 10 before moving to California. He grew up and educated in Orange County and studied mathematics, computer science, and biochemistry at California State University Fullerton (CSUF) before receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from CSUF in 1998.
Dr. Soun also studied public health at the School of Public Health of State University of New York at Albany (SUNY Albany), with a focus on epidemiology, and received his Master Degree in Public Health (MPH Epidemiology) in 2003. For several years he worked full time as an epidemiologist with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) as well as with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (NYSDAM).
Dr. Soun attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. He attended two years of didactic on the Island of Dominica before moving to New York City to perform his clinical rotations; graduating in March 2010. After graduating from medical school, he attended Residency at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital Family Medicine Program in DuPage County, Illinois close to Chicago, and graduated from Residency in June 30, 2014.
Dr. Soun joined Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group (IVCFMG) as a full time Family Practice Attending on August 4, 2014, and is a practicing partner of Dr. Lorenzo Suarez of the Suarez Medical Center in Brawly.
In addition to his work as a civilian physician, Dr. Soun is also currently a physician, officer, and soldier with the United States Army Reserve and is published in the International Journal of Biomedical Science. In his spare time, Dr. Soun is an avid martial art practitioner of Jeet Kun Do (JKD) martial arts, traveling around the United States and Internationally, reading, going to the cinemas, watching movies at home, going to Mission Beach and other California Beaches, weekend getaways, driving on Pacific Coast Highway, going to the park, picnic, running, basketball, weight/strength training, attending live concerts, going to restaurants, listening to music, or just relaxing at home.
Dr. Soun is multilingual, fluent in both English
and Cambodian, and is in the process of learning Spanish and Russian
