Reza Elahimehr, MD
Reza Elahimehr, MD attended medical school at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed his internship and residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. Dr. Elahimehr completed his fellowship in Nephrology at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 2015 and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship at UCSD in 2016. Dr. Elahimehr is currently Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Elahimehr is a member of the American Society of Transplantation, WHCOP, American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Elahimehr is on faculty at the division of transplantation at UCSD and as part of a large multidisciplinary team, he is able to collaborate with physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and dietitians to ensure that all treatment options are considered.
Dr. Elahimehr specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic kidney disease. He is a transplant nephrologist and his practice includes care for a wide range of kidney disease such as hypertension, glomerular and auto-immune kidney diseases and including taking care of patients with end stage kidney disease before and after their transplantation.
Dr. Elahimehr’s primary goal is to provide comprehensive and excellent patient care for those who are at risk of having kidney disease and those who are suffering from kidney disease from mild to severe stages.
